Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive financial support services by managing accounts payable, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in the management of fixed assets, while ensuring compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and organizational Financial Regulations and Rules.

Principal Duties
1. Receive and process financial data and correspondence, ensuring completeness of information and conformity with Financial Regulations and Rules as well as with anti-fraud policies and procedures, and follow up on missing/incomplete/inaccurate information.
2. Calculate, verify, enter, and process payments and vouchers, as well as any reimbursements due.
3. Identify and correct errors in data entry or accounting operations.
4. Review obligations and expenditures, identify anomalies and take necessary corrective action, and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
5. Collate and compile financial and statistical information or data in compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and Financial Regulations of the Organization.
6. Perform accounts reconciliation, such as general ledger, suspense, supplier accounts, and petty cash accounts.
7. Process Value Added Tax (VAT) refund claims.
8. Examine client queries and provide explanations promptly, forwarding disputed, complex, or unusual cases to the supervisor.
9. Draft correspondence to clarify discrepancies, obtain explanations, and provide information on the Financial Regulations and Rules.
10. Manage petty cash using the Imprest system.
11. Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records.
12. Assist in ensuring fixed asset register accuracy.
13. Undertake delegated duties as required, including backing up other staff members of the department.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in accounting or finance, including at least one year within an international organization.
- A relevant professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, and CIS, is an added advantage.

• Competent user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Conditions Of Employment
Salary and allowances on first appointment shall be those applicable to Grade GS9 Step 1 of the ARIPO salary scales of the General Service category.
Base Salary: US$19,531 per annum.
Other benefits include:

• 30 days annual leave.
Medical examination: The appointment is subject to a satisfactory United Nations-type medical examination to be conducted by an ARIPO-nominated medical practitioner.
